Vineyard Wind is building the first large-scale offshore wind energy project in the United States, to be located 15 miles south of Martha’s Vineyard and interconnecting to the grid in Independence Park in Hyannis.

Based in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Vineyard Wind is a 50-50 partnership between funds of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Avangrid Renewables.

Avangrid Renewables, a subsidiary of AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), is one of the leading providers of clean, renewable wind power in the United States. CIP manages over $8 billion on behalf of public employee pension funds, investing in clean energy projects including offshore wind, onshore wind, and clean energy transmission infrastructure. The partnership of the two companies in Vineyard Wind brings extensive offshore wind expertise and substantial, reliable financial capacity to the Commonwealth’s initiative to build the offshore wind industry in Massachusetts.
