The Pilgrim Monument, with the cornerstone laid by President Teddy Roosevelt in 1907 and dedicated by President William Howard Taft in 1910, is owned and managed by the Cape Cod Pilgrim Memorial Association founded in 1892. Cape Cod's oldest non-profit, the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum has a mission of TRUTH (Tolerance-Respect-Unity-Trust-Her/History) and is dedicated to ensuring patrons know the story of the lives of all pilgrims that journey to Provincetown starting with the initial residents, the Wampanoag Tribe of early 1600 and continuing to present day.
