Operations Manager

Location: South Wellfleet, MA.
Sanctuary: Wellfleet Bay

Mass Audubon is seeking a highly organized, detail oriented, systems-minded, and people-friendly professional to serve as Operations Manager for Mass Audubon’s two staffed nature centers on Cape Cod. This position has overall responsibility for a wide range of management duties and administrative functions that support both day-to-day and long-term activities of the sites. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include direct oversight of the Cape Cod region’s business office and daily administrative operations; supervision of full-time and part-time office and visitor services staff; coordination of the sanctuary’s gift shop; volunteer recruitment and volunteer database management; and direction of financial record keeping and accounts payable/receivable.

The Operations Manager will also work with the Director and other senior staff to analyze admissions and membership data to assist with developing marketing, membership recruitment, and other strategies.

The manager is also involved in site-based policy development as well as budget planning, tracking, and analysis.

The manager may also serve on various Mass Audubon committees to provide support and/or input on organization-wide initiatives.

The manager will also have daily administrative and operations responsibilities at Wellfleet Bay during shifts, including opening/closing the nature center, assisting with answering phones and visitor reception, and responding to medical and weather issues as needed. 

Additional Comments

This position is based out of the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary located in South Wellfleet, MA.  This is a year-round, 40-hours/week, benefits-eligible position. Weekend and evening shifts may be required.
