BUILDING INSPECTOR

The Town of Wellfleet is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Building Inspector. The anticipated starting salary range is commensurate with experience with an initial minimum salary of $70,968. The position is full-time, with full benefits. The Building Inspector is an integral part of the Town’s regulatory management team. The position requires responsibility for the oversight of the building and zoning functions of the Town including, but not limited to, thorough knowledge of municipal operations of town departments, working knowledge of the State Building Code, experience with Zoning Bylaws, regulations, inspections, and enforcement and all other related work as required. Required to attend evening meetings of the Zoning Board of Appeals. In accordance with MGL Chapter 143, Section 3, each inspector of buildings shall have had at least five (5) years of experience in the supervision of building construction or design or in the alternative a four (4) year undergraduate degree in a field related to building construction or design with one to three (1-3) years prior work experience as a Local Inspector of Buildings; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. As a condition of employment must complete a CORI check.
