Job Description
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: 
 
This full-time Information Technology Security Faculty position, to be filled for the 2017 Fall Semester, includes responsibility for the following:
 
  1. Teaching fifteen (15) hours per week of the IT Departments Security Penetration Testing course offerings.
  2. Coordinate and advise students and cohorts in the Security Penetration Testing concentration and certificate curriculum.
  3. Hold a minimum of four (4) office hours per week on four (4) days.
  4. Actively participate in the Department’s evaluation, development and implementation of curriculum, courses and program offerings.
  5. Actively participate in college, department, and division services and activities.
  6. Maintain own professional certifications and remain current in IT security standards and practices. 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  1. Bachelor’s degree in an information technology related field.
  2. Three (3) years industry experience in IT security.
  3. Up-to-date certification in at least one of the following: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Expert Penetration Tester (CEPT), Certified Reverse Engineering Analyst (CREA) or other IT security related certification.
  4. Demonstrated presentation skills and the ability to meet the challenges of a broad curriculum and a student body with diverse abilities, interests and backgrounds.
  5. Effective teaching, assessment and presentation skills.
  6. Demonstrated evidence of keeping current in the field of computer security.
  7. Ability to relate pedagogically to the needs and interests of students. 
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  1. Master's degree in an information technology related field.
  2. Commitment to the community college philosophy.
  3. College-level teaching experience.
  4. Experience, an appreciation for, and a commitment to working in a global, multi-cultural academic setting.
  5. Experience with the integration of technology and alternative delivery systems of instruction in the teaching-learning process. 
COMPENSATION:    Full-time MCCC Unit position.  Salary to be determined by a formula-based classification system, dependent upon education and experience (Master’s degree alone merits base salary of $45,996).  Position includes participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program.
