Lead Framer

The Lead Framer will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating framing activities on select smaller framing projects on PSD construction sites and within homes. They work closely with our field team and with subcontractors to ensure timely completion of framing tasks while maintaining high quality standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in residential framing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hands on framing activity to ensure efficient and accurate completion of framing tasks on construction projects.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Field Operations, Project Managers, Construction Managers, Architectural Project Managers, and other team members to review construction plans and specifications and determine the best framing techniques and materials.
  • Plan and schedule framing activities, allocating resources and manpower effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety guidelines, and quality standards in all framing operations.
  • Lead, train, and mentor junior framing carpenters/laborers, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and productivity.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other trade professionals to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, material usage, and labor hours.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, building codes, and best practices in residential framing techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential framing or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certification or training in carpentry or construction management is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of residential framing techniques, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and the ability to enforce them on job sites.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, subcontractors, and clients effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification preferred.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and demands.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a positive, "can do" attitude.


WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Field environment
  • Travel to site and off-site locations will be required.
  • Overtime as required.
  • May be exposed to hazardous working environments with heavy machinery.
  • Reaching above and below, stooping, and bending.
  • Lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds.
