Risk Management Assistant

Job Description

Summary

Will work with a variety of Risk Department officers including but not limited to:  Risk Management; Compliance; Vendor Management.  Provides support to ensure the effective operation of the department in conformance with established Bank policies and procedures. Major activities include: document and report preparation; coordination of monitoring reviews; assistance to business lines with regulatory inquiries; administrative support for the department; special projects as assigned. 

Risk Functions

  • Coordinate team meetings, prepare agendas and monitor projects.
  • Facilitate annual Policy and Program updates.
  • Provide oversight of department budget and variances.
  • Provide administrative support including the preparation of invoices and authorizations.
  • Prepare reporting for various Bank Management Committees.
  • Handle special projects as requested.

Compliance Functions

  • Analyze new and pending laws and regulations at both the federal and state level and keep abreast of industry activity through attendance at seminars and workshops.
  • Coordinate scheduling and material distribution for the Compliance Committee.
  • Assist in coordinating monitoring reviews and gathering documentation for request list items.
  • Maintain and update the Risk Management Calendar on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist in documenting and maintaining the Compliance department’s processes and procedures.
  • Assist in conducting periodic testing and developing corrective action plans when deficiencies are detected.
  • Assist business lines with regulatory inquiries.
  • Track Compliance Training.
  • Prepare graphs, visual materials, and presentations.

Vendor Functions

  • Monitor Accounts Payable reports monthly for potential new vendors.
  • Support audit and examination preparation for vendor management related items.
  • Assist with vendor management functions as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent).
  2. 1-2 years’ experience in financial services.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  4. Displays high standards of ethical conduct. Proven record of honesty and integrity.
  5. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite that includes word, excel, power point, and database software.
  6. Detailed oriented and demonstrates strong organizational, research, and analytical skills.
  7. Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently.
  8. Works with minimal supervision. Demonstrates responsible behavior and attention to detail.
  9. Must have cyber security awareness to protect the digital environment, the Bank, and customers.
