Professional Administrator & Bookkeeper Job Description


SUMMARY OF POSITION

Under the supervision of the Executive Director and with support from the Executive and Finance Committees, provide administrative and bookkeeping services for a dynamic nonprofit performing arts organization.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing solid financial operations to sustain the vision of Payomet

  • Enhancing and administering systems, policies, budgets and staffing/personnel

  • Bookkeeping with Quickbooks; monthly bank reconciliations; payables, receivables

  • Reconcile & post ticketing info on a weekly basis in off-season, 2-3x weekly during season

  • Contract negotiation and administration from execution to payment

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.A. or B.S in Business Administration or Accounting with at least 5-6 years experience

  • Knowledge of and experience with QuickBooks 

  • Knowledge of clerical practices; non-profit business practices preferred 

  • Computer skills and general knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

This is an independent contractor position, permanent, part-time (2-3 days a week) from November thru April, with a significant increase  (4-5 days a week, some nights) from May until late October.  

 

The individual must be an independent worker who is able to prioritize tasks and balance time in order to fulfill board expectations for handling bookkeeping responsibilities in a timely manner.  Absolute attention to detail is expected in the handling of the daily financial management of the organization. Rate of pay is commensurate with experience.
