Description
We have been familiar with websites secured with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificates for years—when we are engaged in transactions we look for the “https” and the lock in our browser. Traditionally we only thought of transaction websites – those that took credit cards and asked for personal data – as needing SSL. But with the web security landscape changing, and more and more sites being powered by content management system such as WordPress, it is important for all websites to be secured via SSL. Dale Shadbegian, partner and founder of 118Group, will walk us through the advantages of securing websites with SSL, from greater safety from hackers to more trust among your viewers. How does one get SSL? What are the implications content-managed websites like WordPress? And what can happen with out it? Dale will have time for your questions. Sponsored by the Cape Cod Technology Council, the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, the 118Group and CapeSpace. Doors open at 5:30PM, presentation starts at 6PM sharp. No charge for this event.
