Description
Join the Cape Symphony at the Cape Cod National Seashore’s outdoor amphitheater for the fifth Symphony at the Seashore concert on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 7:00 PM. Pre-concert activities for kids and parents will be offered from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM. Admission is free.
This family-friendly performance, presented by the National Park Service and the Cape Symphony and sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore, had become a tradition for visitors and locals alike prior to the pandemic, and the Cape Cod National Seashore and Cape Symphony are delighted to bring this event back.
The Cape Symphony will be joined by special guest Dawn Derow. Dawn grew up in Eastham and began pursuing her performing career in her childhood. She graduated from the Boston Conservatory with a Bachelor’s in Music, and has performed in New York City and around the world in operas, musicals, and, over the past dozen years, as an award-winning cabaret singer.
Dawn sang with the Cape Symphony at our annual Holiday on the Cape in 2021, and I’m excited to have her join us at the Seashore,” said Pak. Dawn will perform “Olde Cape Cod,” as made famous by Patti Page, “(I Like New York in June) How About You?” and “Over the Rainbow,” among other favorites.
The program will also include a Disney medley, a special multimedia tribute to the National Parks and the Cape Cod National Seashore in particular, and stirring patriotic numbers, including a tribute to our armed forces and veterans.
Join the Cape Symphony at the Cape Cod National Seashore on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 7:00 PM at the Salt Pond Visitor Center Amphitheater (rain date is Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 7:00 PM and if necessary, will be announced via social media and on the Cape Symphony and Cape Cod National Seashore websites Friday morning). Admission is free and tickets are not required.
