Quartett Giocosa, together with pianist Irina Kotylar will present a concert featuring two masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire, the piano quintets by Schumann and Dvorak. Quartet members Heather Goodchild Wade and Irina Fainkichen, violin, Irina Naryshkova, viola, and Elizabeth Schultze, cello are all longtime members of the Cape Symphony and formed Quartett Giocosa in 2017. They are joined by Ukainian pianise, Irina Kotylar for this exciting program, "Music For a Winter Night". About Quartett Giocosa: Collectively Heather, Liz, and the two Irinas have had the good fortune to play with some amazing musicians including Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, Mstislav Rostropovich, Anne Sophie Mutter, Mark O’Connor, Wynton Marsalis and Sarah Vaughan. They have worked under the leadership of conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Michael Tilson Thomas, Jane Glover, Lorin Maazel, Seiji Ozawa, and of course the incomparable Jung-Ho Pak. They have played with fabulous orchestras including the Bergen Philharmonic, the Royal Danish Orchestra, the Atlanta and Oklahoma Symphonies, the Boston Lyric and Chicago Opera Companies and the Upsala Chamber Orchestra. Now in their second season together, QG is currently in residence with the Chatham Chorale. With a focus on bringing joyful and inspiring performances to all members of their musical community, Quartett Giocosa looks forward to a vibrant future together.
