Description
Have you ever wanted to try rowing? Here's your chance! Cape Cod Rowing, in conjunction with USRowing and Concept2, presents National Learn to Row Day! The will hold a free open house and mini rowing lesson at the Wequaquet Lake Town Beach on Shootflying Hill Road in Centerville.
Participants are asked to wear comfortable athletic clothing that's not too loose, and to bring a pair of socks to wear in the boat. Shirts are best, as they will have to wade knee deep in the lake to get into the boat. Club members will demonstrate rowing technique first on an ergometer (rowing machine), and then in a rowing shell. All attendees will have a chance to do both.
Those who enjoy their experience are encouraged to sign up for the Learn to Row beginner clinic. Program days are: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, June 11- 27. Each clinic has eight sessions.
Lessons take place at the beach and boat launch area at Wequaquet Lake, on Shootflying Hill
Road, and are scheduled in the mornings. For more information visit http://www.capecodrowing.org/
Full season (May-October), student (May-August 15) and summer (June 1-August 31) club memberships are also available.
Based in Centerville, Cape Cod Rowing is the largest area rowing club and draws membership from all over Cape Cod, including Wareham and Plymouth. Cape Cod Rowing, Inc., is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.
