Description
Back by popular demand, it's CCYP's popular "Mentor Monday" event - on a Tuesday! Join us for networking, a featured speaker presentation, and a lively "speed mentoring" session with leaders from the Cape business community. The event is presented by Rogers & Gray Insurance.
Mentor Tuesday is designed to provide attendees with the benefits of mentoring in a fun and interactive format. The event is open to the public with a cost of $10 for CCYP members and $15 for non-members. Space is limited, so attendees are asked to register in advance.
The featured speaker for the event is Stuart Simon, LICSW, MCC, a senior faculty member of the Gestalt International Study Center in Welfleet with thirty-five years of experience as a Master Certified Coach, psychotherapist, consultant, and trainer. Mr. Simon’s presentation – titled “Why Don’t People Change When I Tell Them To? Applying the Paradoxical Theory of Change to Career Development” – will highlight common barriers to professional growth and offer solutions as to how attendees can overcome them.
Following the featured presentation, participants will split into rotating “speed mentoring” breakout sessions, led by a group of community business leaders. These “table mentors” will facilitate discussion on the featured topic and share their own wisdom and experiences with attendees. Participants will rotate between Table Mentors every fifteen minutes to allow for dynamic and varied conversation. The slate of Table Mentors for the evening includes:
John L. Allen, Executive Director, John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum;
David Augustinho, Executive Director, Cape & Islands Workforce Development Board;
Paul Dunn, Project Manager, Cape Associates;
Polly Goddard, Professional Development & Leadership Coach, Sandbar Coaching and Counseling;
Tammi Jacobsen, Director of Workforce Development Training, Cape Cod Community College;
Beth Marcus, Owner, Cape Cod Beer;
JR Mell, Executive Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands;
Laura Newstead, Chief Human Resources Officer, Cape Cod Five;
Joe Rahal, Rahal Consulting;
Stuart Simon, Faculty and Professional Associate, Gestalt International Study Center.
