Description
As part of the Gardening for Life Speaker Series, the Friends of the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and Association to Preserve Cape Cod present Invasive Weeds: What You Can Do with Mike Bald of “Got Weeds?” Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 1pm. Owner Mike Bald of “Got Weeds?” a Vermont based company, has years of experience fighting non-native invasive species that can dominate our landscapes. He uses manual and non-synthetic control methods to eradicate, contain, or suppress non-native invasive plants. Manual control methods ARE effective in many scenarios, but few people have documented their efforts through to completion. Mike has worked to control numerous plant species, including giant hogweed, Japanese knotweed, black swallow-wort, Japanese barberry, and wild parsnip. A goal of Got Weeds? is to demonstrate through careful documentation that proper planning and appropriate treatments can be successful without turning to the use of synthetic chemical products. Join Mike as he will share his insights and proven expertise to help landowners safely control non-native invasive plants!
