Keeping it simple, “Beginning Oil Painting,” will focus on basics. This is a time to learn about values, color and light—plus, how to hold a brush and what makes an eye-catching composition. “If you can see it, you can paint it.” This four-week class will offer tools to make that happen—with ease.
Patricia Hopkins Barnes
Patricia Hopkins Barnes is an award-winning oil painter who studied drawing, watercolor and oil painting at Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY, graduating with a BFA in Art History. Barnes earned her Masters at The University of Wisconsin. Her work has been juried into National Shows at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, The Cultural Center of Cape Cod, The Creative Art Center and the Cape Cod Art Center. Barnes specializes in capturing the light of Cape Cod, often with a bit of whimsy. Patricia’s work has sold nationally and internationally. She is a juried member of The American Impressionist Society, Inc., The Oil Painters of America, and The Cape Cod Art Center. Barnes lives on Cape Cod with her husband and two spoiled dogs.
