Falmouth Academy Community Series and Woods Hole Diversity Initiative Present: An Evening of Art and Insight with Robin Joyce Miller on Thursday, February 1, 2024. In a dynamic community collaboration, Falmouth Academy and the Woods Hole Diversity Diversity Initiative (WHDI) proudly present a captivating evening with local artist and activist, Robin Joyce Miller. This event, part of the Falmouth Academy Community Series, marks the inaugural celebration of Black History Month 2024, embracing this year’s national theme of "African Americans and the Arts."The evening commences at 6 PM with an artist reception in Falmouth Academy's Simon Center for the Arts, showcasing Miller's impactful artwork. At 7:00 PM, Miller will be interviewed by Mindy Todd, host of CAI's award-winning radio show, "The Point,” discussing her art, activism, and her latest series, "America to Me," exploring themes of democracy and freedom. Robin Joyce Miller, a retired New York City educator and a current trustee at Cotuit Center for the Arts, brings over thirty years of experience to this exceptional event. Renowned as the Art Educator of the Year in 2007, Miller's journey from educator to accomplished artist is truly inspiring. Throughout her tenure in the NYC public school system, Miller passionately served as an arts educator and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) advocate, leaving an indelible mark on the intersection of education and the arts.
